This rug pad is great and the price very good. If you need to cut it down be prepared with a heavy-duty utility shears or a good utility knife. I would suggest getting it too big and cutting down rather than trying an undersized pad. The pad is so thick that you will definitely notice where the pad ends.
The surface is dense enough to keep dust from going through the pad and sanding the finish off the floor beneath it. The cushion it gives to a nice thick wool rug makes the feel of the rug extra comfortable and luxurious. The pad does not slip on a hard floor and the rug does not slip off the pad, so it is very safe and you can easily vacuum without the rug bunching up or moving.

It's super thick and cushy, my dog can't move the rug anymore, it was easy to trim to size. Good stuff.

This rug pad is wonderful. It is really durable and it is thick enough to give a nice cushiony feel to the rugs. And reasonably priced as well.

Great Carpet Pad Mar 07, 2012

Purchased an 8x11 carpet and also wanted something new for padding. Found out that carpet padding is readily available over the internet, but VERY little around in the retail stores. I didn't want that thin white-laced foam underlay used more as an anti-slip padding. Decided to try Safavieh pad out. Wow, really nice. Turned out this one was a little bit thicker than the older green rubber one from yesteryear and that really made a difference in the feel and resilence of the carpet. It's actually pretty nice with one side sort of felt up feature and the bottom down side having a rubber component. Also, it came delivered as an 8-foot roll, which gives you sime idea to its thickness and structure. The product was just a tiny bit larger than 8x11, which worked out fine. That gave me an easy job aligning it under the carpet and just cutting off the excess with a box cutter (too tough for siccors or shears to clip). Highly recommended.

I used this pad under a stair runner (Had to cut it to the desired size). It looks very durable and is very comfortable. I also used the left over pad for a small area rug, which lies at the end of the stair case. Since the area is made up of bricks, which is a bit slippery, the pad came in very handy. The pad is a bit pricy but I think it is well worth it. Good product.
