Lots of complements on it Oct 21, 2013
Several people mentioned that they didn't like the raised design in the rug for everyday use. I used it under the dining room table, and it's perfect. It's eye-catching and the blue color is really lovely.
Hate it Nov 26, 2012

I hated it. It was so tacky looking and almost 3-d. The Sunburst were extra "wooly". Just not my taste.
Sheds, Sheds, Sheds Apr 29, 2012

We picked up this rug as we had liked the pattern a lot. We had also gone to the Safavieh show room and were warned by the sales person that this rug may shed. However since we liked the pattern so much, we picked this up online.
This rugs sheds so much, we need to vacuum clean it almost everyday - if you don't have the energy to vacuum everyday - DON'T PICK THIS UP. Apart from the wool, the colored ribbons also come off very often.
Really bad idea to have picked this up.
Good Quality, Great Design Mar 12, 2012

I love the pattern on this rug--it was the perfect accessory we needed to complete our living room setup. The pale blue base and gold and brown designs coordinate with our blue accent wall and gold and brown chair and couch. The only shortcoming of this rug is that the pattern does shed--the few times I have sat on it, I had to use a lint brush to remove the fuzzies off my pants.

Starbursts are not wool; "raised bursts" is an understatement May 09, 2013
By Jennifer Hines
The description on this rug and all the other Safavieh Soho Collection Explosions Rugs says 100% Wool pile, but this is not true. The starbursts are thick polypropylene "ribbons" (think flat rope like ribbons) with tinsel like threads running through them. The description also says "raised, shag bursts," but sadly, neither the pictures nor the item description fully illustrate the design flaws in this rug. The ribbon material used in the starbursts is so dense and thick that the rug actually measures a half inch higher than the shorter pile wool part of the rug. The dense wool part of the rug is already a half inch thick, but then add an additional half inch for the starbursts and the rug actually measures 1 inch thick in some places. The thickness poses problems if, for instance, you put the rug near a door, as the bottom of the door may catch on the rug when opening it. Unfortunately, the ribbon material in the starbursts looks cheap and the unevenness of the two surfaces just highlights the tacky material. Also, be prepared for the light colored sections of the raised shag to get really dirty as the material is a dirt magnet and the texture ensures that every shoe that brushes over it will soil the surface. Actually, this rug would make a great front door mat since the raised bursts are ideal for cleaning dirt off shoes (note sarcasm).
